Tower Rock is a 60-foot rock island standing in the Mississippi off Wittenberg, a designated national landmark. The Missouri Department of Conservation’s natural area on the bank opposite has a trail along the river. In very low water you can walk out to the base of the rock. Open daily 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. Perry County also has about 650 known caves, more than any other county in Missouri, though most are on private land.
